Types of Industrial Heaters and Their Applications

Buyers should consider the characteristics of different heater types when purchasing industrial heaters. For example, an engineer will need to consider how much space needs to be heated before determining what type of heating system is required. In a cold environment, a large warehouse will require a different heating system than a small room.

Industrial heaters are available in different shapes, sizes, and configurations. These are a few of the most common types:

Air Heaters

Radiant heaters, space heaters, and forced air devices are examples of this class of heaters.

Circulation Heaters

Circulation heaters are employed to warm streams of fluid that are moving or flowing. As the fluid passes through the heater, it heats up.

Duct Heaters

Duct heaters warm up the moving air or gas that passes through the duct.

Flexible Heaters

Flexible heaters can be shaped to heat a specific shape.

Immersion Heaters

This type of heater must be placed in the substance it is heating.

Space Heaters

Small spaces are best served by space heaters. Generally speaking, they are portable, non-emitting, and safe to use.

Industrial heaters are indispensable for numerous industrial applications, such as annealing, heat treating, curing/tempering, drying, melting, and OEM/custom heating. It’s safe, cost-effective, and more efficient to choose the right heater for a specific job in the long run.
